A silver capstan inkwell with engraved presentation information "Presented to the Technical College, Officers Mess, by No 7 E.O.J.S.C 1950-52, hallmarked Birmingham 1907 by Ellis and Co, missing liner, along with a cut glass silver topped match holder, hallmarked Birmingham 1923 by Samuel M Levi, and a silver collared cut glass small scent bottle, chips to stopper and hallmarks are rubbed. Tarnishing, some denting, surface scratching, staining.

Ca. Mid to late 12th century AD. A flat-bottomed copper inkwell comprising a separate lid and a slightly flaring, cylindrical body. The lid has a flat top, straight sides with three horizontally oriented handles, and an ogival dome with a rounded finial. The main body is equipped with further hinged handles and is meticulously embellished with geometric designs and inscribed good wishes. Ca. 1180-1300. A copper pyxis or inkwell. Possibly Ayyubid. Cylindrical with segmented detachable lid. The Pyxis has beautifully composed depictions of seated turbaned figures holding vessels. Figures similar to earlier Fatimid depictions and contemporaneous Ayyubid coins and manuscripts depicting SalHijrahuddin. Possibly used as an inkwell or to hold perfumes or spices. A Staffordshire equestrian flatback, 19th c, the rider in Scottish tartan, 22.5cm h, a Staffordshire model of a recumbent ram, 8cm w, a similar sheep, 8.5cm w, a recumbent whippet inkwell, further figures, including two shepherds, pastille burners and model houses, spill vases, spaniels, two 20th c reproductions, etc., (22) The equestrian flatback in overall good condition, the loss of one arm apparently contemporary with manufacture as over-decorated. The ram and sheep models good, nibbled and crazed as expected. The whippet inkwell restored, its foot also chipped. Other pieces not individually examined, but with conforming degrees of condition and wear.

Treen cup and bowl cracked and chipped. Islamic inkwell with faults. Other pieces in mixed various condition.
