An assortment of small ornamental porcelain wares to include a late 19th century porcelain bookend modelled as a terrier leaning against a book, a French faience inkwell and a selection of Wade Whimsie-style animals Condition - the dog bookend looks in good overall condition, the faience inkwell has a chip to the extremity of the base on the outside, the Wade Whimsie style figures are in generally good overall condition with one small chip to the ear of a lion etc. The Wade porcelain tortoise appears in reasonable order, the continental cherubic style figure has had the head off and re-affixed, the three wade porcelain trinket/ash trays look in good general overall condition and the seated pug exhibits a small hairlines emanating from the firing hole underneath the base.

A William IV Silver-Gilt Mounted Hardstone Inkwell, by Paul Storr, London, 1832, the hardstone body carved in the form of a horse's hoof, the silver-gilt mounts cast and chased with hair, with a part domed cover opening to reveal the silver-gilt mounted conforming glass bottle, with an associated gilt-metal pen, 12.5cm wide. Fully marked on back of mounts and on bezel of silver-gilt mounted bottle. Further part marked inside cover and on 'horseshoe'. There is some surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the gilding. There are some minor chips and scratches to the glass bottle. The 'horseshoe' is partly detached on one side.

Marked on base for Lenox crystal below etched signature "Daniel Reed '96". 4th-6th items: Three silverplated/white metal inkwells. One (1) Art Nouveau style silverplated inkwell with applied floral designs and four scroll feet; one (1) silverplated inkstand with pierced gallery, pen tray, and two removable glass inkwells; one (1) white metal ink stand with feather decoration, marked "Etain 94% Made in France" to base, containing a single removable glass inkwell. 7th-15th items: Nine (9) clear and colored glass unmarked inkwells; five (5) with round or square form bodies and hinged metal lids, some with gilt or molded decoration; three (3) with hinged gilt metal and glass topped lids, including two of clear cut glass and one of blue blown glass, which has a pontil mark to the base; one (1) inkwell of square form without a lid. All items range from 2 1/2" H x 2 3/8" dia to 4 3/4" H x 5 7/8" dia. All items likely late 19th to mid or late 20th century. Provenance: Private Middle Tennessee collection. CONDITION: Overall good condition. Wear to plating on some lids, minor scattered scratches and chips to edges of glass bodies. Largest loss 3/4" x 1/2". 7th-15th items: one inkwell missing lid.

Provenance: a Nashville, TN estate. CONDITION: Some small dents up to 1/2" to vase. Lid does not sit tightly on inkwell. Minor wear to surface in fold crevices on squirrel bowl. Otherwise, all pieces very good condition.
