A 19th century Austrian cold painted bronze novelty inkwell, in the form of a cardinal bird, with a hinged lid, in the manner of Franz Bergmann, 15cm highOverall condition looks to be complete. Generally dirty. Paint is worn and it is dull in colour. No liner for the inkwell. There is a foundry mark to the base, but the impression is worn away. Stamped number 1 to base. Recently inherited by the family.
