A Zulu Battle Axe, with slender crescent shape blade and cylindrical tang inset into the swollen head of the wood haft, bound with woven copper wire; a Very Similar Battle Axe; two African Hide Quivers, one containing fourteen arrows; a West African Iron Work Figure of a Horse and Rider, on a flat plinth and wrought stem with triple foot (5)
An interesting collection of 42 Victorian and early Post Victorian bullion embroidered naval rank and trade badges and a Victorian Grenadier Guards Colour Sergeants arm badge, attractively mounted behind a blue velvet panel with chain stitch lined windows cut to the shape of the badges so that the full size of the badge backing is retained, the panel approximately 46” x 24” including lace borders. The badges include cross anchors with KC (1st class PO), anchor with KC (2nd class PO), anchor (leading seaman, x 6), crossed rifles with QVC and star, crossed axe and hammer with QVC and star, crossed clubs with KC and star (2), crossed guns with KC and 2 stars, crossed guns with star (4), gun with 2 stars (4), gun with one star (4), crossed torpedoes with star, single torpedo with 2 stars (4), single torpedo with one star (2) etc. GC (minor moth patches to the backing on one or two of the badges)
IMPORTANT MARTEAU DE PORTE en bronze fondu et ciselé de l`atelier de Tiziano Aspetti (1557-1606). Il représente une Vénus marine debout dans un large coquillage entouré de deux Amours ailés chevauchant des dauphins dont les queues s`enroulent derrière la tête de Vénus. Il est fixé par un axe en fer qui vient se poser dans la bouche d`un mascaron grimaçant de la même époque qui vient contre la porte. Il a été couvert d`un laque noir qui a été usé sur les parties saillantes. Beau travail Vénitien de la fin du XVIe, ou début du XVIIe siècle. (Quelques petits accidents et usures. Il est présenté sur un cadre en bois postérieur). HAUT. 40 cm Tiziano Aspetti est né à Padoue vers 1557-1559 et est mort à Pise en 1606. Issu d’une famille de bronzier il devient l’élève de Girolamo Campagna et travaille à Padoue, Venise et en Toscane avant de finir sa vie à Pise. Ce modèle est à rapprocher de deux heurtoirs conservés dans des musées. Le premier au musée Da Capodistria en Slovénie, le second sans le mascaron au Minneapolis Institute of arts référence 82.115.14 don de M. and Mme Théodore Bennett.

Bronze Age Bronze Palstave Axe1500-900 BC. A cast bronze palstave axe with spatulate blade and shallow recesses to the rear of the blade and of each face. 495 grams, 17.5 cm (6 3/4"). Found by Christopher Mullan on a school trip in the Lake District in 1982; re-discovered whilst emptying his parents garage in 2012. Very fine condition, minor casting flaws.Starting Price: £250

A pair of bronze Viking warriors, each in typical Norse dress, wearing helmets, one standing holding a shield and a sword raised above his right shoulder, the other standing with a spear, with shield upon his back and axe at his side, each on a circular socle base, unsigned, 42 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Overall with some general wear and scuffs. Sword, dagger and spear with denting and mis-shaping. Sword quite loose in its handle. Spear with screw fitting to base and also quite loose.
