The badges include cross anchors with KC (1st class PO), anchor with KC (2nd class PO), anchor (leading seaman, x 6), crossed rifles with QVC and star, crossed axe and hammer with QVC and star, crossed clubs with KC and star (2), crossed guns with KC and 2 stars, crossed guns with star (4), gun with 2 stars (4), gun with one star (4), crossed torpedoes with star, single torpedo with 2 stars (4), single torpedo with one star (2) etc. GC (minor moth patches to the backing on one or two of the badges)

IMPORTANT MARTEAU DE PORTE en bronze fondu et ciselé de l`atelier de Tiziano Aspetti (1557-1606). Il représente une Vénus marine debout dans un large coquillage entouré de deux Amours ailés chevauchant des dauphins dont les queues s`enroulent derrière la tête de Vénus. Il est fixé par un axe en fer qui vient se poser dans la bouche d`un mascaron grimaçant de la même époque qui vient contre la porte. Il a été couvert d`un laque noir qui a été usé sur les parties saillantes. Beau travail Vénitien de la fin du XVIe, ou début du XVIIe siècle. (Quelques petits accidents et usures. Il est présenté sur un cadre en bois postérieur). HAUT. 40 cm Tiziano Aspetti est né à Padoue vers 1557-1559 et est mort à Pise en 1606. Issu d’une famille de bronzier il devient l’élève de Girolamo Campagna et travaille à Padoue, Venise et en Toscane avant de finir sa vie à Pise. Ce modèle est à rapprocher de deux heurtoirs conservés dans des musées. Le premier au musée Da Capodistria en Slovénie, le second sans le mascaron au Minneapolis Institute of arts référence 82.115.14 don de M. and Mme Théodore Bennett.
