VIKING AGE THROWING AXE FROM UKRAINE. An interesting throwing weapon from the Viking age found in Kiev. The weapon has a curved blade reminiscent in shape to a Frankish throwing axe but with an added small blade on the back edge. As found condition, it needs a gentle clean, length is 10 inches and the curved cutting edge is 5 inches in length. 50-70

C16th BATTLE AXE WITH ARMOURERS MARKS. A very fine example of a later period medieval battle axe; the blade being almost 10 inches in length and struck with an armourers mark and a number of half-moon decorations on the lower edge. Hammer welded construction , not an excavated piece.
