A COLLECTION OF EARLY ITEMS to include a Late Bronze Socketed Bronze Axe Head, Circa. 1000-500 BC, with smooth green patina, Two Flints, a Roman terracotta oil burner, and several fossils, two museum copies of a Cuneiform barrel and cushion tablets. Provenance: R. Heldsworth Williams Collection. Found by Williams in West Meon, Hampshire, and accompanied by related correspondence dated 1932.
OKIMONO.A 19th century carved ivory Japanese okimono featuring a long haired, horned figure wielding an axe, below him four other crouching figures; a female carrying flowers, another with a folded scroll & bead necklace, the other two hiding beneath folds of fabric. The base also carved with the feet of these figures & a further figure hiding in the base of a basket. (Old natural crack visible on base). Full height 11.5cm.
