JAPANESE IVORY AND WOOD FIGURE OF A PEASANT CARRYING WOOD the figure modelled with a staff and an axe, and with a bundle of gathered wood on his back, the figuer on a wooden stand with mark to underside, 28cm high The piece is in several sections including one foot detached from one leg, the bundle is detached from his back, the staff is loose and broken, one arm is repaired, some splitting to the wood and a few gathered twigs are loose or detached.

A late 19th century brass skeleton clock with a chained regulator, fuse movement and traditional anchor escapement. The open dial is silvered with a Roman numeral chapter ring. The silver metal bell is struck by an axe formed beater which has been replaced. It is covered in a glass dome with a faded red fabric base in a gilded gesso frame which is rubbed and faded. The key bears the initials M & P and the size 3.75. Overall height 32 cm (winder in office)
