Interesting mixed lot to include a 9ct snake watch strap (4.6g), a graduated bead necklace - possibly amber, two silver engine turned pencils, a Scottish white metal and agate brooch in the form of an axe (af), an antique gilt metal mourning brooch, two vintage gent's wristwatches; one Ingersoll and one Accurist, a silver plated nurse's belt with pierced decoration, a brooch modelled as a group of rabbits, etc, all contained in a mahogany two drawer apprentice type chest (fan in picture not in lot, see lot 383)
dating: 1600 provenance: Italy, Cusp of lozenge section, concave-edged axe, reinforced upper tip, provided with two, pierced lugs; oblique rear fluke with reinforced tip, pierced base provided with a deep stamp; flat straps. Wooden, antique, octagonal haft, decorated with metallic rivets and red tassel. height 203 cm.
dating: circa 1600 provenance: Italy, Long cusp of lozenge section, concave-edged axe, lugs and piercing, oblique rear fluke, pierced at the base, ferrule is missing. Long, flat straps on an old, octagonal, wooden haft, with remains of green fabric covering and metallic rivets, red tassel. The base with iron tip. height 124 cm.
dating: 19th Century provenance: Indopersia, Iron axe, slightly convex, borders decorated with notches and facets engraved with Arabic characters among rinceaux decorations. A square stud at the peak, butt with six, ogival cusps. Engraved block. Iron, cylindrical haft, central section engraved with spirals. Grip outlined by the rings. Buttoned cap. height 89 cm.
dating: 16th Century provenance: Germany, Spearhead with strong, straight, square cusp, with a well visible, square stamp at the base. Almost straight-edged axe, with cusped lugs and engraved with flowers in the front part. Almost straight beak with three, circular holes. Long, undulated straps, fixed with iron rivets. With counter-straps. On an old, wooden shaft with mark 'e'. height 240 cm.
dating: 19th Century provenance: Indopersia, Convex-edged axe, engraved with effigies of various characters on a rinceaux weave, and with cartouches with inscriptions in Arabic at the grip and at the base. Block with remains of engravings, surmounted with a long, square cusp, with a knot at the base. Butt shaped as a stylized monster's head. Iron haft, engraved with damask weave. height 80,5 cm.
dating: third quarter of the 16th Century provenance: Germany, Spearhead with leaf-shaped, double-edged cusp, with strong, central raiser. Hollow axe and with beak-shaped lugs. Rear fluke curved downwards, almost straight, with long, rear lugs to almost shape a ring. Faceted ferrule with long, relieved straps, fixed with rivets. Probably more recent shaft. height 200 cm.
dating: 16th Century provenance: Swiss, Cusp of lozenge section, concave-edged axe, pierced with a heart, undulated back; wide, pierced rear fluke, back decorated en suite. Shortened straps. On an old, wooden haft covered with remains of completely worn-out velvet, decorated with metallic rivets. Red tassel. The base with iron tip. height 211 cm.
