Mercenier dating: last quarter of the 19th Century provenance: Belgium Rifled, octagonal, 450 cal. barrel, with foresight, featuring remains of a stamp at the base; grooved, six-shot cylinder; frame with caliber writing, serial number "1628", loading gate; grip with checkered, wooden grip scales (tired) and ring for the strap. Under the grip scales the mark "G. MERCENIER", and remains of numbers at the bottom. The revolver has been created to be assembled and disassembled without any tool. dimensions: length 22,5 cm. A RARE COMBINATION TOOL, 18TH CENTURY of burnished steel engraved with scrolls and flowerheads, comprising a pair of pincers, each arm respectively formed of a pricker and a hook with saw edge, the pincer head with screw-on turn-screw and hammer (one small chip), the pricker with slotted cover for clearing tow and fitted with a further threaded double screw for clearing 12 cm; 4 ¾ in overall Provenance Robin Wigington, Stratford-upon-Avon A similar tool is preserved in the Musee Le Secq des Tournelles, Rouen. A good rosewood and cut mother-of-pearl sewing box, circa 1840, of rectangular form with elaborate interior, the lid and front inlaid with cut mother-of-pearl within pewter lines, the interior with lift-out compartmentalised tray in yellow silk and paper with gilt tooled red morocco gilt tooled lids and fittings including a pair of needle books, and complete with a set of eight mother-of-pearl reels with bone stems and bases, a silver thimble and thimble guard, the tool card with two mother-of-pearl handled tools and steel scissors, the lid interior in yellow ruched silk with a conforming morocco tooled frame, when opened revealing a further small tooled morocco frame with a photograph of a young woman, presumably the original owner. 30.5 x 22.5 x 12.5 cm.

Accessories are all in worn and used condition, with metalware rusty.
