A Spode '1291' pattern tea service, 19th century, comprising: a teapot, cover and stand, a sucrier, a milk jug, nine spur handled London shape teacups, ten spur handled London shape coffee cups, eight saucers and two serving plates, each piece decorated in an Imari palette with exotic birds, painted maker's mark to bases (33) CONDITION REPORT:The teapot rim shows a small firing crack approximately 5mm long and a hairline crack approximately 2cm long.  The milk jug shows a decorating fault below the spout.  One teacup shows a stained hairline crack approximately 4cm long.  One coffee cup shows extensive repairs.  Some pieces show the odd small firing pit or frit.  Some pieces show small decorating faults.  Some pieces show surface marking to the underside.  All pieces show rubbing to the gilt highlights. 

Lot 469

A Worcester cup and cover, circa 1775, in the fence pattern, with flower head finial, 12cm high, with two fence pattern saucers, 10.8cm diameter, a cannon ball pattern tea bowl, 7.5cm diameter, and a smaller tea bowl in the natural floral sprays pattern, 6cm diameter, all bearing hatched crescent mark (5) CONDITION REPORT:The cup cover shows a small chip and nibbles to the finial.  All pieces show firing pits and frits, the odd small firing crack, the odd rim nibble, the odd small decorating fault, and the odd small glazing fault, but no obvious chips, cracks, crazing or evidence of restoration.

A selection of Coalport cobalt blue batwing decorated tea and coffee wares, comprising: five teacups, seven coffee cups, six espresso cups, seventeen large saucers, six small saucers, four side plates, twelve dessert plates, a milk jug, a sugar bowl, an oval twin handled serving dish, 32cm wide, two square twin handled serving plates, 25cm wide and 29cm wide, and a circular twin handled serving plate, 29cm wide, each piece with printed mark to base (Qty) (at fault) CONDITION REPORT:One espresso cup is lacking its handle, and two show hairline cracks descending from the rim.  One coffee cup shows extensive hairline cracking, and another shows a smaller hairline.  Two teacups show hairline cracks.  Two small saucers and three large saucers show fine surface crazing (stained in places).  The milk jug shows extensive fine surface crazing.  The circular serving plate shows extensive stained crazing and a crude repair.  One square serving plate shows extensive rubbing to the central gilt motif.  All other pieces show surface wear and rubbing to the gilt highlights throughout.
