THORNURN, ARCHIBALD, (1860-1935). An interesting collection of sketches, comprising pencil or ink studies of game birds, wildfow; and other birds; two studies of wildvats; a small watercolour of sheep, signed with initials; two small vignettes of botanical studies, signed with initials; and a study of antlers; some with studies recto and verso, within an envelope bearing a typed label addressed to the artist at his home at Hascombe, near Godalming, December 1931 (50 leaves).
A good English porcelain botanical dessert service, each piece well painted to the centre with a different specimen flower spray within a broad green border with gilt seaweed and stars divided by entwined salmon ribbons, edged in gilt, comprising eleven 9.5in plates, two shaped circular 10in dishes and four shaped rectangular dishes with pierced leaf handles, c.1850
Nine Mintons Cabinet plates, one decorated by Dean with a border of sailing boats, one with central turquoise monogram within a border of jewelled turquoise swags, three others printed and painted with botanical studies, one decorated with red scrolling, one painted in blue and gilt with central vase motif, one decorated with a band of flora the sole painted in turquoise textured enamel, another decorated with gilt leaves on a blue ground, (some pieces with heavy crazing) (9)

A fine pair of Chamberlain's Worcester wine coolers, covers and liners, with richly gilded knops and gadrooned borders, the sides painted with botanical sprays titled 'Tulips', 'Flowering Rasberry', 'Moss Rose' and 'Superb Corn-Flag' the liners decorated inside and out with veined yellow marbling, script mark to the inside of one cover, c.1810-20, 33cm (6) One liner cracked.
