Nissen BBI 2033. Hunt 470. Pritzel 9657. An important work on the sexual characteristics of plants, published posthumously by Hermann Boerhaave. A Derby botanical plate, painted with a specimen of the Wood-Night shade, in gilt rim, 23cm diam, Robert Bloor & Co, painted crown, crossed batons, D, script title and nos 28 and 80 in red, c1810 . Some mild localised discoloration of the finely crazed glaze which could probably be cleaned. The gilding on the rim rather rubbed in places.

Tiny mis-fired spot on one of the orange fruits which has resulted in a 2mm spot of flaking, very slight signs of stacking wear to the fluted border. No damage nor any restoration.

One handle rebuilt and discolored; in otherwise good condition free from scratches or rubbing of the gilding.

The enamel slightly scratched and with minor stacking wear to the gilt decoration on the fluting (See lot 204 for illustration).

A few minor scratches to the enamel which are hardly noticeable and do not detract. Large flat chip to the underside of the rim not visible from the front of the plate, no other damage nor is there any restoration

Very mild even discoloration of the glaze, which does not detract from the overall appearance and could probably be easily cleaned, no flaking, cracks, chips, damage or restoration.
