HMS Terror (1813), early 19th century dessert service and various dishes comprising twin handled comport, nine small dishes and four single handled dishes, each painted with a different botanical flower illustration, each with reserved cartouche "Terror" and GR. Possiblly Old Hall (14) HMS Terrot was a bomb vessel which took part in the war against the United States and assigned to the Artic together with HMS Erebus was involved in Sir John Franklin`s ill-fated expedition to the Artic, where the vessel was lost in the ice. Given to the vendors by the descendants of the surgeon on the HMS Terror following refurbishment.
A GROUP OF EIGHT 18TH CENTURY HAND-COLOURED BOTANICAL ENGRAVINGS all William Curtis Flora Londinensis, entitled `Cerastium Viscsum` `Scandix Pecten` `Cerastium Vulgatum` `Hypericum perforatum` `Avena Flavescens` `Ramundus Acris` `Miluim Affusum` and `Cardamine Amara` all within card mounts and modern frames, under glass, three showing page text to glazed reverse, (various sizes). Some discolouration and fading but generally good condition.
