He was one of the leading Irish judges of his day and resided at Merville House Dublin for several years. He was the Lord Chief Justice of Ireland from 1803 to 1822.

Phillips MS.24024 (China and Bengal c.1780-1800)]. Condition report: 2 with a few isolated spots the other more heavily spotted. All hinged into uniform mounts.
