A 17th century (possibly later) oak Bible box with lift-up lid, carved floral and foliate decoration to the front, initialled 'MB' and dated 1613, 30 x 70 x 41cm, containing a tooled leather bound copy of 'The Comprehensive Family Bible Containing the Old and New Testaments according to the Authorised Version, with copious critical, explanatory, and practical notes, and reflections' by David Davidson, LL.D., with numerous authentic views and illustrations of Biblical countries, published Blackie & Son, Paternoster Row, London 1864.
