A rare Martin Brothers stoneware spoon-warmer, by Robert Wallace Martin modelled as a grotesque creature with gaping mouth, glazed in shades of green and blue incised marks 27 R W Martin London & Southall 11-79, minor frits to ears, 13cm. wide Dated November 1879 this is one of the earliest grotesque creatures modelled by Robert Wallace Martin whose birds date from 1880 onwards.

An early Doulton Lambeth stoneware jug by Hannah Barlow, dated 1876, incised with a lurcher and her puppies, in blue, green and brown on an ochre ground, with silver rim impressed and incised marks monogrammed to the side of the jug, hallmarks 1875 19cm. high The hallmarks are inscribed for retail by Leuchars & Son Piccadilly, London & Paris.
