Col. Montagu Cleeve (1894-1933), who was a neighbour.Condition report: General wear to the pieces, commensurate with age, with some likely replacement parts. Height of Kings in chess set: 7.5cm. The case with light surface scratches throughout, visible on close inspection. The case and contents would benefit from a light clean.

A pair of Cizhou bowls, possibly Northern Song, with knife cut foliate decoration against a partially combed ground, 20.5 & 21cm dia, 7.2 & 6.9cm highCondition report: The smaller and wider bowl has some small nibbles to the rim. The taller bowl has a small chip restoration to the interior rim and a small rim chip. Both bowls ring out nicely when lightly tapped. Other than the faults mentioned both appear to be in good condition.
