Paul Gascoigne`s Newcastle United debut jersey worn in the match v Queen`s Park Rangers 13th April 1985, a short-sleeved black & white striped No.12 substitute`s jersey; sold with a document of authenticity from Newcastle United FC (2) This jersey was originally sold at Christie`s Auctioneers in December 1998. The Christie`s catalogue read as follows: The jersey was given to the vendor by Gordon McKeag, who was chairman of Newcastle United from 1988 to 1990, and a club Director from 1972 to 1991. The shirt relates to Gazza`s debut against Queen`s Park Rangers as a substitute on 13th April 1985. The jersey is accompanied by a sheet of Newcastle United headed note paper with the General Manager`s compliments which had been inscribed in ink "Paul Gascoigne`s strip-first game against Queen`s Park Rangers."
Reg Wootton ("Sporting Sam") A FOLIO OF 30 ORIGINAL ARTWORKS FOR PUBLICATION AS CARTOONS IN THE SUNDAY EXPRESS NEWSPAPER pen & ink strip cartoons, typically 13 by 33cm., 5 by 13in. Reg Wootton joined the Sunday Express in 1931 and launched "Sporting Sam" in 1933. He was also known for the character "Sporty" who appeared in Knockabout Comic and Mug and Mik in The Netherlands. Most of the artwork are dated which corresponds to the publication dates in the newspaper. Sports encompassed in the folio include swimming, pole vaulting, wrestling, athletics, hammer throwing, diving, darts, bowls, hunting, ice hockey, high jumping and tennis,
After Charles Martin Hardie DIAMOND JUBILEE PICTURE OF THE ROYAL CALEDONIAN CURLING CLUB a scarce coloured photogravure published by Goupil & Co circa 1899, mounted but unframed, some restoration, the image 56 by 91.5cm., 22 by 36in. Hardie`s original oil painting hangs in the National Galleries of Scotland. The work was commissioned to celebrate the diamond jubilee of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club in 1899 and depicts a grand match between north and south at Carsebreck in 1898. The sixty one figures are all portraits and a detailed key to their identities was published. The club owned the site at Carsebreck in Perthshire, which was deliberately flooded to form a safe playing surface for grand matches. Provenance: The Collection of Lord Aberdare (1919-2005)

A signed photograph of the boxing champion Jimmy Wilde dated 1916, a 6 by 4in. black & white studio portrait photograph issued by the Central News Ltd., signed and inscribed in ink to the mount directly beneath the photo YOURS TRULY, JIMMY WILDE, TO MY OLD PAL CHARLIE AUSTON, 6.5.1916; sold together with a mounted b&w photograph of the boxer Bombadier Billy Wells posed in boxing kit with his cups and trophies, the image 11 by 8in. (2) Twelve days before Wilde signed this photograph, he had won the world flyweight title when beating Johnny Rosner by an 11th round knockout in the Liverpool Stadium. A week after signing the picture Wilde was back in the ring again when he won two fights in the same day at Woolwich Dockyard against Darkey Saunders and Joe Magnus.

Garden Grant Smith RSW (1860-1913) CROSSING JORDAN, PAU signed & dated `97, watercolour, 27 by 37cm., 10 1/2 by 14 1/2in. This watercolour was reproduced as an illustration in Garden Smith`s 1898 publication `The World of Golf`, in chapter XIV, Continental Golf. Pau Golf Club is the oldest Golf Club in continental Europe, established in 1856 and Garden Smith`s work must surely be one of the earliest known paintings of continental golf
