Barraclough & Sons, London, 1911, each piece of squat circular form, decorated with a single ribbon and pearl band, decorated fruiting vine design, straight gadrooned rim, the teapot and hot water jug with composition canopy finials and scroll handles, with inscription to underside of teapot, height of hot water jug 8 1/4in. (21cms), 77oz. gross.

Robson`s, Newcastle: two late 19th Century Arts & Crafts wardrobes, with heavy cornice and repousé panels depicting Viking ships above a mirrored door, the interior fitted with oak hooks NB Although fitted with Robson`s label to the back, these pieces were probably made by the firm of Harris Lebus in London and retailed by Robson`s in Newcastle.
A pair of 19th Century Venetian mirrors of semi architectural form, with foliate cresting inset with small mirror, the main plate with curved and rocaille carving, the verso with retailer`s label of James Peake, Carver & Gilder, Westminster Bridge Road, Est. 1866, also with hand written inscription `Bought at Miss D.L. Howard Sale at Soughton, 1892`. Provenance Miss Dorothea Lloyd Howard, daughter of Rev Richard Howard DD of Soughton House, Flintshire, Wales
Kenneth Rowntree 1915-1997 The 3 Napkins and the table cloths, singing Pencil on paper, possibly for Recording Britain 16 1/2in. (42cms) x 11 3/4 (29.5) another sketch and a further one showing a castle or church tower, all inscribed with colour notes (unframed) NB The view of the restaurant (or tea room) would have appealed to Rowntree`s love of shape and juxtaposition. The three round topped windows suggest figures, whilst the three fan folded napkins, must have suggested a frivolous normality in wartime. Rowntree noted on this piece; "All colours in doorway Very strong & as dark as dammit. Painting should be about the 3 napkins & the table cloths, singing. Shadows of sun on walls where needed
An early 19th Century engraved glass rummer, slice cut, raised on faceted knop above a star cut base, the bowl engraved with wagon and three horses with the drover, the wagon engraved "G Hedley Morpeth and Newcastle Carrier", opposite initials "GMH" beneath a crest 7 1/2in. (19cms) high NB The firm of Hedley`s merged with the Anderson family to form Anderson, Son & Hedley, who merged with Atkinson and Garland in 1913 to become Anderson & Garland the well known firm of auctioneers.
