Walter Goodin (1907 - 1992), Hull Docks, view from Sammy`s Point, Holy Trinity Church in the background, barges and trawler in the foreground, signed on board, 19 1/4" x 23 1/4", painted wood frame. ****This painting is believed to have been purchased in the early 1960s by our vendor`s father, who was a friend of Walter Goodin`s, the trawler depicted was built by Cook, Welton & Gemmell at Grove Hill, Beverley by the grandfather of our vendor. This painting is similar to one included in the recent Walter Goodin "Above all, the Sky" exhibition, catalogue no.34
George III mahogany bracket clock by Hardeman & Son of Bridge. The painted dial with Roman numerals and strike/silent above twelve. The twin fusee movement striking on a bell, signed to the engraved back plate, the pendulum engraved with regulation scale. The case with brass inlay, fish scale fretwork panels and ring drop handles to each side, 50cm high.
Langley Mill, Calvert & Lovatt period art pottery ovoid shaped vase having a continuous band of thickly painted foliate decoration on a yellow and grey ground within two bands of brown sgrafitto stylised foliate decoration on a green ground, base with monograms for both Mary Helen Goodyear and George Leighton Parkinson, 40cm high.
