Kings Bodyguard of Scotland Royal Company of Archers Full Uniform, Headdress and Sword Grouping Contained in the Original Metal Storage Trunk Belonging to A A Lawrie, the grouping consists of the long pattern green cloth tunic with gauntlet cuffs and shoulder wings. Trimmed with black braid and crimson velvet, four bars of black braid across the chest, showing a light crimson velvet. Black braid and crimson velvet also to the collar. Crimson silk shoulder cords with gilt metal button. Fine quality sash with large badge in fine gilt metal to the centre and a lower sash badge in gilt and enamel retaining nearly all the original fire gilt finish. Royal Company of Archers cape in green cloth with collar. Bands to the inside to fasten the cape down. Cape lined at the shoulders with green Italian cloth. Gilt metal special pattern cape chains and large gilt metal buttons. Full dress bonnet in green cloth with black braid trim. Crimson tuft to the top. White and green silk cockades with fine gilt metal bonnet badge which retain nearly all of the original fire gilt wash finish. Complete with the original feathers. Black leather belt with sword frog and gilt metal Royal crest plate, the circlet inscribed “Kings Bodyguard for Scotland”. Parade pattern short sword made retailed by J Stewart & Son Edinburgh, ornate gilt metal hilt, acid etched blade with GRV cipher. Much of the original polish remains to the blade. Housed in the original leather and brass mounted scabbard. All housed in the original metal transit trunk with brass name plate engraved “A A Lawrie”. A truly fantastic condition set which shows very minimal wear. Ex Bennett collection. Please note we are not able to offer in house post and packing on this item due to weight and size.

A ceremonial or theatrical uchikake, probably Meiji Period, purple silk kimono coat, elaborately hand-embroidered with cherry blossom flowers and auspicious motifs, in pink, white, and green silk thread, incorporating couched gold threads, front left side with a Samurai warrior mounted on a white horse, worked in polychrome and gold threads, and rear with the back view of a warrior mounted on a black horse, lined with orange silk, heavily padded hem, some wear, mostly to hem, some faint discolouration to back, wingspan 122cm (48ins), length 157.5cm (62ins), together with: A wedding uchikake, probably Meiji Period, polychrome hand-embroidered and yuzen-dyed silk kimono coat, top half dark blue, lower half with vibrant mountain and river landscape on a grey and turquoise ground, depicting cranes, lotus flowers, and blossom stems, lower part of sleeves decorated to match, lining and padded hem in red silk, occasional small marks and minor wear, wingspan 124.5cm (49ins), length 150cm (59ins), plus a lady's obi (kimono sash) with silk and goldwork embroidery, and 2 narrow lengths of Japanese hand-embroidered pale yellow figured silk, depicting figures in a landscapeQty: (5)NOTESThe heavily padded hem of these garments indicate that they are outer kimonos, or uchikake, designed to be worn over another garment without a sash, usually for formal occasions or stage performances.

Simpson & Co' Masonic jewellers, a smaller gilt and enamelled medal attached with a light blue ribbon, two 'Justice Truth Philanthropy' fob medals each fitted with a ribbon and pin, also a tube with certificates, the second case contains a blue and white apron with white metal tassels, paperwork, photo, white gloves, a gilt medal fob fitted with a light blue ribbon, books, a green sash etc
A John Adams & Co parian ware portrait bust of the Duke of Wellington, c1851, in uniform wearing sash and orders, including that of the Golden Fleece, on socle, 36cm high, impressed ADAMS Adams exhibited his bust of Wellington at the Great Exhibition, 1851. Jewitt (Ceramic Art of Great Britain) observed Adams' parian ware busts were "...remarkable for their truthfulness and artistic treatment." Handling marks and dirt, apparently very good condition, no restoration detected

A 1960's 9ct gold and bloodstone set signet ring, size O, a Victorian 9ct gold and chalcedony set swivelling fob seal on a 9ct mounted black sash suspension, a 9ct ingot pendant, (9ct gross 21.3 grams), two 18ct dress studs, 3.6 grams, one 15ct gold dress stud, 0.7 grams, a white metal fob watch and three medallions.
