A 1930's Chiffon Tea Dress. A soft pink chiffon dress bias cut with curved panels to create a pretty lower skirt. The sleeves are made from petals of pink organdy and the sash is lined with petal detail at the waist. An under petticoat made from pink rayon with net and trim detail on the hem, side fastening with poppers. Size 10. (1)

Cast bronze figure of the goddess Uma Parvati sat in the royal ease posture with large earrings, necklaces, armlets and bracelets, thick belt and sash. 380 grams, 90mm (3 1/2"). Acquired on the London art market in the late 1980s. Uma Parvati is the goddess in her benign manifestation and is the consort of the god Shiva. Tribal goddesses are primarily worshipped as protectors of the village against disease and evil spirits. English school, 19th century, a bust portrait of a young officer, oil on canvas, 74 x 59.5 cm See illustration Condition report Report by RB Previously cleaned and re-lined, several years ago judging by the amount of dirt and dust on the reverse, scuff mark just below centre parting of hair, with a repaired hole just to the right of this, also with several other holes, most noticeable to his collar, bottom of his sash/strap, (which would certainly need a bit of work), but hopefully you should be able to see some of these repaired holes from the illustration. Frame old but probably not original.

Opposite the signed page is a mounted black and white photograph of the Queen Mother sitting on a sofa and wearing a long dress, crown and ceremonial sash. Overall size 20.3 x 34.3cm when opened. A few stains to cover and light wear to margins, otherwise in very good condition.
