An original Yves Saint Laurent fashion sketch, Spring-Summer 1977 couture, signed, pencil and ink, the model's ensemble with wide sash tied low on her hips, 12 by 32cm and in frame; together with original newspaper feature, dated January 26th 1976 (2) Provenance: The sketches lots 17-19 were specially commissioned by Helena Matheopoulos for her fashion feature in the Daily Express 'Eye' supplement. CONDITION REPORT: His signature in red has partially faded. The paper is discoloured at the top and bottom edges where it has been glued onto yellow sugar paper mount. Newspaper has yellowed with age. Faint brown discolouration to right edge. Mounting paper is stained and worn.

An unusual commemorative child's dress, 1863, of burgundy velvet with ivory satin piping, mother of pearl buttons, and taffeta waist sash, the tails printed with the Prince of Wales plumes, 'Ich Dien' and 'Albert and Alexandra', bust 61cm, 21inThe Prince of Wales, Albert Edward, married Danish Princess Alexandra on the 10th March 1863 at St George's Chapel, Windsor. He was 21, and she 18. Their marriage was popular and promoted in the British press as a love match. Presumably this dress was made to wear at a celebratory party. CONDITION REPORT: A few marks in the bodice velvet, ivory satin waist sash is damp stained and discoloured

CONDITION REPORT: Dress has perspiration stains at underarms, which are concealed by flounces. Faint discoloration at rear lower back area, slight soiling generally, would benefit from dry cleaning. The odd small soiling mark on skirt. Approx. 1x4cm wide stain to left skirt side. Petticoat has small split at edge centre back point, otherwise good condition, no problems.

The design for this dress is preserved within the Lanvin archive, 1933 Volume III. CONDITION REPORT: Perspiration staining at the centre back area and underarms, lacking slip which would have carried the label. Seams at shoulder/neck edge have started to separate and need re-stitching (minor). Perspiration stains at underarms and 1cm split within stain at right underarm. Faint spot stain at rear waist. Faint discolouration at right waist which is hard to see. Sash has 3 soil marks to pointed tip.
WILHELM II: (1859-1941) German Emperor & King of Prussia 1888-1918. A good, large vintage signed Imperial cabinet photograph of the Kaiser in a head and shoulders pose wearing his full military dress adorned by various medals and orders and a damask sash. Photograph by Reichard and Lindner of Berlin. Signed ('William I.R.') with the English form of his signature, as Imperator er Rex (Kaiser and King) to a clear area at the head of the image and dated 1889 in his hand. Bearing the photographer's stamp and date, 1888, to the base of the image and lower photographer's mount and with photographer's imprint to the verso. An impressive signed photograph. Some very light, minor overall foxing, otherwise VG The present image was captured by the Berlin photographers Reichard and Lindner in the first year of the Emperor's reign. Wilhelm II served as the last German Emperor from 1888, ending with his abdication in 1918. In 1890 he dismissed the Chancellor Otto von Bismarck and launched Germany on an aggressive 'new course' of foreign affairs that culminated in his support for Austria-Hungary in the crisis of July 1914 that, within a matter of days, led to World War I.
