A Givenchy couture shot chartreuse/ivory silk faille cocktail dress, circa 1955-7, labelled and numbered 1603, with strapless, corsetted bodice, full skirt and two broad rear sash-like panels forming a watteau back, one with opening at the waist for dancing, bust 81cm, 32in, waist 56cm, 22in CONDITION REPORT: No alterations. Silk has badly perished at the underarms and has disintegrated leaving bare patches that exposes the white flannel corset covering. Fabric could possibly be taken from some of the other double-layered areas of the dress to repair. Left side seam needs re-stitching in 2 places. Apart from the underarms the dress is clean and fresh. Silk is frayed at zip closure edge. Provenance: same owner as bridal gown, lot 106, June 14th 2016 auction.
An Ossie Clark for Radley moss crepe 'Judy' jacket, circa 1970, printed satin label, with tie-belt; together with a Biba lace dress, woven label; and a Jean Muir apple-green jersey dress, labelled, busts 81-92cm, 32-36in (4) CONDITION REPORT: Judy jacket: satin worn on cuff, lacking waist button, small holes in tie sash. Muir: nice colour, 3 pinhead holes to skirt rear, and rear neckband, soil mark to one cuff, couple of tiny pulls in jersey, overall good. Biba lace: good condition, very fresh.
A composite Qibleh cloth, Ottoman, assembled circa 1870 from earlier fabrics, with central floral mihrab worked with a cypress between peach and blue flower heads, with similar rectangular panels to either side, surrounded by a patchwork of floral embroidered garment and sash borders linked by pulled and drawn thread work and needle lace bands, 152 by 100cm See 'Ottoman Embroidery' by Roderick Taylor p.136 for an illustration of this piece. Provenance: Roderick Taylor collection CONDITION REPORT: Slight wear to embroidery on central mihrab, splits to plain cotton edging border, some wear and repair to the ground within the motifs. One square is very poor condition, others generally with degrees of wear to the embroidery or thinning to ground, fading. Fair condition.
An Ossie Clark bias cut brown/purple striped crepe dress, late 1960s, un-labelled, the high neckline with key-hole front and tying with sash, bust approx 86cm, 34in For an example of a labelled Ossie Clark dress made from identical fabric, see Kerry Taylor Auctions, 23rd February 2016, lot 187. CONDITION REPORT: Two small holes/snags at front right bodice, repaired with clear thread, longest 1cm in length, otherwise good.
A Jean Desses ivory and orange satin evening gown, late 1950s, Paris pret a porter label, 'specially for Maria Carine', the columnar empire-line gown with columnar skirt which attaches at the hem to the orange sash, bust 81-86cm, 32-34in CONDITION REPORT: Exterior generally good. Slight soiling to hem edge which would easily clean. Silk lining has large damp stains to skirt area and tears. Rear skirt has faint damp stain to hem area which is very visible on inside and very slightly visible on exterior - it is concealed within the back drape.

A late Victorian cream chiffon bodice, hand-stitched, short-sleeved, high-necked boned bodice of tucked muslin, with lace inserts, embroidered neckline, and ruched satin waist, metal hook and eye closures, some toning and one or two stains, bust approximately 84cm (33ins), length 48cm (19ins), together with a late Victorian black ribbon tapework bodice, with high chiffon neckline and long tucked chiffon sleeves, metal hook and eye closures, bust approximately 92cm (36ins), length 51cm (20ins), plus a Judith Ann Creations black silk dress with short sleeves and side split, 1980s, heavily beaded all over with black and silver bugle beads, bust approximately 96cm (38ins), plus eighteen other items of vintage clothing, including a late Victorian white muslin dress with lace inserts and green satin sash, a 1920s brown satin dress with cream lace neckline, a 1930s green satin evening gown with flower detail on the back, an early 20th century handmade white cotton blouse, with drawn threadwork and crochet inserts and trim, a black velvet fitted jacket by D.H. Brigham & Company, Springfield, Massachusetts, and two early 20th century long black velvet gowns, one with decorative diamante clasps on bodice and lace trim to neck and sleeves, various sizes and condition (21)
A FINE QUALITY SIGNED JAPANESE MEIJI PERIOD STAINED IVORY OKIMONO, of Kwannon bearing a tablet and flanked by two boy attendants, one bearing a basket of peach, the other boy bearing a stringed mandolin type instrument, the sash of Kwannon's robes onlaid to the front with a kiku flowerhead in mother-of-pearl, the base with a carved seal mark, 2.3in wide at widest point & 2.9in high.
A carved coconut flask, late 18th/early 19th century, with two diminutive ring handles carved with a mask and flower sash near the spout, the body carved with four ovals of lovebirds and an arrow, a basket of flowers, musical trophies and faithful dog beneath a tree near a plinth with two hearts, leaf carved lower section, 15cm long.

Minor edge bruise at 4 o’clock and scuffs, otherwise nearly extremely fine. The Prince’s marriage to Princess Caroline Amelia Elizabeth of Brunswick (1768-1821), took place in St James’s Palace at 8.00pm on the 8 April 1795; Küchler’s placing the date 1797 for 1795 on the medal, is a curious error.

A 20th Century 'Meissen' Porcelain Ram Box (A/F). The ram mounted on an oval base with a young girl wearing a pink draped sash and garland of finely modelled flowers stood beside it. The base edged in a decorative gilt chain with a crossed swords mark to the underside. 6½ ins (16.5 cms) high.
A Knights Templar gilt and enamel cross the red enamel cross with attached embroidered red, blue and white ribbon, the central enamelled boss in blue and red enamel depicting a ram with Latin inscription 'Non Nobis Domine' (the Latin motto of the Knights Templar). The reverse with central boss depicting a Patriarchal double Christian cross with Latin inscription 'In Hoc Singo Vinces' (in this sign you will conquer). Sash ribbon attached with a Bishop's crown. Three christening gowns, two fine lawn with pin tucks and lace inserts with satin ribbon sashes; the third in fine white cotton with pin tucks and white embroidered flared front, lace and broderie anglaise trim, early 20th century, together with a fine lawn long petticoat; gauze toddler's dress with pink bobble trim; fine lawn toddler's dress with lace inserts and woven ribbon sash; broderie anglaise petticoat; a page boy outfit with blue velvet knickerbockers and various other clothing oddments. All first half 20th century. Some time stains and other imperfections.
A Chinese silk embroidered long sleeved robe, the heavily embroidered gown decorated with Chinese Deity Lions, dragons, bats and a sea scape, 135cm long (ALTERED)The robe is grubby at the base and with some fraying and loose stitches here and there, particularly to the cuffs. Odd mark here and there and blue silk lining with some marks and fading. The garment has later poppers to the buttoned section on the right hand side of the garment. It appears to have been altered somewhat from an original robe into something a little different which would need to be placed over the head to wear. The scarf may be from the original robe or made from the old sash. The shoulders of the robe have been padded. The robe is 135cm approx in length

Meissen group - restoration to feather plume of lady's bonnet, finger lacking from right hand, the basket with restored handle and the girl's hand lacking two fingers, several of the leaves and petals on the base chipped. World War ll Period Nazi PenantThe hand stitched Penant inscribed NAT.SOZ.FRAUENSCHAFT with central Swastika and initials G.H.L., verso Swastika on a red background, a car Penant with Swastika emblem 114cms x 114cms, arm band with Swastika, gilded oak leaf border with dagger through the centre, two further Swastika arm bands, a silk sash with German inscription and a Nazi War flag, 100cms x 170cms.
Tilly Kettle (British, 1735–1786) Portrait of a young girl in cream dress with blue sash, half length in a painted oval oil on canvas 54 x 47cm (21 x 18in) Provenance: From an Indian collection. Other Notes: In 1768, Kettle sailed to India with the British East India Company, landing at Madras (now Chennai), where he remained for two years. There, he painted Lord Pigot and Muhammad Ali Khan twice (once alone and once with five of his sons). He also painted non-portraits, including Dancing Girls (Blacks) in 1772 and a suttee scene in 1776 entitled, The ceremony of a gentoo woman taking leave of her relations and distributing her jewels prior to ascending the funeral pyre of her deceased husband. In 1770 Kettle painted a half-length portrait of 'Sir' Levett Hanson, a peripatetic writer on European knighthood and chivalry originally from Yorkshire. (The portrait is now in the collection of the Bury St Edmunds Manor House Museum.[1]) Kettle moved on to Calcutta (now Kolkata) in 1771 and painted Shuja ud-Daula and Dancing-Girl Holding the Stem of a Hookah. In 1775, he painted George Bogle, Warren Hastings' emissary to Tibet, in Tibetan dress, presenting a ceremonial white scarf to Lobsang Palden Yeshe the 6th Panchen Lama. He also took an Indian mistress and had two daughters by her. Lined canvas. Painting has been recently restored and is in good condition. A few retouchings, mainly in the background. Varnish is clear and even. Frame has been regilded/applied with bronze paint.

Unlined canvas. Small loss to paint layer at upper left corner, otherwise paint layer is stable. Wide drying cracks and alligatoring in dark paint passages, Thick and yellowed varnish which is matt and uneven. Surface dirt present. Scuffed edges. White mark to the right-hand side. Crinkling of the canvas to the left top corner.
