A GEORGE V SAUCEBOAT of oval form, with an egg and dart border and scroll handle, the whole on shell-capped hoof feet, by Mappin & Webb, Birmingham 1934, together with a Danish sauceboat, of faceted oval form, with a flying scroll handle, control marks for Copenhagen 1934, (weight of both c. 9oz) (2).
A set of six late Victorian silver teaspoons and matching sugar tongs, with foliage chased bowls and apostle terminals. Makers Mappin and Webb. Sheffield, 1892. 3.5oz. (110g.). cased. Together with a French silver and parcel gilt double egg cup for hen and quails eggs, engraved an initialled shield, the centre with beaded tie moulding. Together with a French silver tea strainer, with wire spout fixing. (9).
The Mackeson Gold Cup, in silver gilt and of Neo-Classical style, engraved with a steeple chaser and inscribed the date of the race, above chased and repousse stiff leaves and pomegranates, the border with oats, barley and hops, having two cast foliage decorated loop handles, on a knopped fan fluted decorated spreading circular foot and a conforming cover with a cast acanthus finial. 14in. (35.5cm.) high. Makers Mappin and Webb. Sheffield, 1971. 53oz. (1650g.). With a mahogany plinth and fitted storage box. Together with five gilt medallions, one with yellow enamel decoration and framed with a certificate of authenticity, one framed for 20the running of the race in 1979, with three more boxed. (6).
