A late 19th century simulated Boulle work and gilt metal thirty hour mantel clock, the circular dial set with Roman numerals and Arabic makers, inscribed 'Exd by Mappin & Webb', with ebonised back, height 42.5cm.Additional InformationSurface wear and dirt, area of flaking and minor losses to the paint, particularly in areas of edges, rubbing and area of flaking to the ebonised back, mild areas of tarnish to gilt and metal parts, areas of crazing to the paint as if the clock was exposed to high temperatures, overall condition commensurate with age, chipping to the enamel area of the key aperture, area of hairline cracks spreading to the edge and the glass has multiple tiny chips running all around the edge as if it was replaced and filed to fit.
