A HM Birmingham 1928, silver Arandora Star match safe by Mappin & Webb; engraved with T.S. Arandora Star and with parcel gilt interior; the Arandora Star began as a White Star line transport ship before being used by the Royal Navy in WW2, it was sunk by a German submarine in 1940 whilst carrying Italian prisoners of war, apparently many of the lifeboats had been shot through to stop the POWs from escaping; 0.9toz.
