Fine Victorian coromandel and brass bound decanter box retailed by Mappin & Webb, Sheffield, 77 & 78 Oxford St., Mansion House Buildings, London, the slightly domed box with brass strap-work ornament with hinged top and hinging front flanked by carrying handles enclosing three cut glass decanters and stoppers, six glasses and removable glass rack, with diamond mark dating the box to 13th Feb, 1875, maker's G.B. & Sons, No. 4 CONDITION REPORT Brass work tarnished, a little slight blistering to coromandel on lid, minor scratches, otherwise outer box ok. Underside of lid has apertures for coasters(?) and spoon. Six glasses present and ok- not clear if these are original. Three original decanters, one with significant chips to collar- the others with slight chips, a deep reservoir behind the bottles possibly originally housed a tray. Generally a little wear to interior, otherwise ok
Edwardian amethyst pendant necklace, the openwork heart-shape gold plaque with foliate design, suspended from an oval cut amethyst and pear cut amethyst drop, on trace chain with barrel clasp, in original fitted box, retailed by Mappin & Webb CONDITION REPORT The pendant measures approximately 57mm from the top of the oval amethyst to the bottom of the pear-shape amethyst drop. The oval amethyst measures approximately 9.8mm x 7.5mm. The heart measures approximately 28mm x 28mm. The length of the chain / necklace is approximately 42cm. Total gross weight approximately 6.6 grams. No hallmarks but most likely 9ct gold. Slight tarnish / discolouration to the frame on the heart at the 2 o'clock position. No damage or repairs. The box is original with wear commensurate with age. The velvet panel that holds the necklace is detached but fits in place neatly
