Lot 32

A George IV silver hot water jug and coffee pot, Mappin & Webb, Birmingham 1936, each of tapering cylindrical form with domed cover, wooden knop and handle, each 21cm high, gross weight 23.47ozt (2)CR; Neither example shows signs of repair or restoration. Both show a moderate amount of small shallow dents to the bodies, as well as general scratching and wear commensurate with age and use. The coffee pot shows two large dents to the circular base. The hinged cover and knop to the hot water jug wobbles slightly, but the cover opens and closes smoothly. Cover to coffee pot opens and closes smoothly, but does not sit completely flush. Both show moderate scratching and wear to the wooden knops and handles.

A George V hip flask, Mappin & Webb, Sheffield 1925, the colourless glass body of rounded rectangular form, crocodile leather mount, detachable silver stirrup cup and bayonet clasp cap, 12.2cm longCR; Stirrup cup shows denting to corners, moderate scratching and wear throughout, but no signs of splitting, thinning or repair. Large dent to the cap, moderate scratching and wear to the mount, but no signs of splitting, thinning or repair. Clasp in working order. Interior cork shows heavy cracking and wear, but no significant loss. The mount is wobbly. Large fracture to the glass opening, but no other cracks, chips or losses to the bottle, general scratching and wear commensurate with age and use only. Heavy splitting, wear and tear to the leather mount. See pictures for illustration.
