Victory Celebrations Signed by J A A Gibson 501 Sqn New Zealander Ace with 12 Victories in Hurricane. Battle of Britain Fighter Pilot Details enclosed from Men of the Battle of Britain He was promoted 3 Sept 1940, later in the month he was wounded and hospitalised. In May 1941, Gibson was posted and returned to flying as a Flight commander with 457 Sqn Royal Australian Air Force. Gibson was posted to New Zealand joined 15 Sqn of the Royal New Zealand Air Force and went to Tonga flew Kittyhawks as a flight commander. Gibson returned to New Zealand in December 1942 and attended a course at the Staff College in April 1943. In December 1943, he rejoined 15 Squadron at New Georgia in the Solomon Islands as Commanding Officer. Attached to United States Navy Guadcanel 1942 - 44, Return to Europe and joined 80 Sqn flying the Hawker Tempest, and was again shot down and injured in March 1945. After recovering, transferred to the RNZAF on 1 December 1945. Good condition. All autographs come with a Certificate of Authenticity. This sophistication may well be the work of the accomplice of T.J. Wise. 3) Wing C5265.
