Guy Gibson interest; RAF cloth wings, with a monochrome photograph of Gibson in a silver plated frame engraved "Dam-Busters. The RAF wings of Winga Commander Guy Gibson..., Janet de Gaynesford (his cousin), presented the wings to the Dam's Collection owned by Derrick Warren in Coventry February 1994", together with a hand written and signed letter and note from Janet de Gaynesford confirming that these wings were given to her by Gibson on March 1941 while at Janet's parents house in Llanishen, the frame overall 24x16.5cm. Condition report:The cloth wings are faded, worn thread to the 'F' and to the right side wing in particular, also wear to the crown and lesser wear overall, otherwise intact, frame is tarnished otherwise good.Provenance; together with a hand written and signed letter and note from Janet de Gaynesford confirming that these wings were given to her by Gibson on March 1941 while at Janet's parents house in Llanishen.Additional images have been uploaded to the lot page on our website for you to view.
