ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL Famous four part hardback book set, published circa 1905, "Association Football and the men who made it" by Gibson and Pickford. Each cloth bound book has circa 220 pages and all aspects of the game are covered with many photographic plates. Includes Club histories, results, editorial about the Amateur, Professional and International game, likewise about the players and the chief officials and administrators of the game. The formation of the Football League and the advance of professionalism is also substantially covered. The volumes are in generally good condition and make up a fascinating read. Generally good

Matthias Weischer, der 1973 im westfälischen Elte zur Welt kommt, gilt als einer der Hauptvertreter der figurativen Gegenwartskunst und im Besonderen der `Neuen Leipziger Schule`. Sein Studium absolviert Matthias Weischer zwischen 1995 und 2000 an der Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig, wo er anschließend für drei weitere Jahre Meisterschüler von Sighard Gille ist. 2004 erhält Matthias Weischer den Preis der `Rolex Mentor und Meisterschüler Initiative` und wird bis 2005 von David Hockney unterstützt. Bekannt wird Matthias Weischer zunächst durch seine Malerei. In seinen pastosen Interieurs, die eine traditionelle Gattung modernisieren, befragt der Künstler die abstrakten und dimensionalen Strukturen menschenleerer Räumlichkeiten. Auch Verweise auf die Kunstgeschichte lassen sich in diesen, teilweise das Surreale berührenden, Malereien finden. Neben der Malerei stellt auch die Grafik einen wesentlichen Teil des ?uvres dar. Als Matthias Weischer 2007 als Stipendiat in der römischen Villa Massimo arbeitet und seine Tätigkeit immer häufiger in die Natur verlegt, beginnt er, sich verstärkt mit grafischen Ausdrucksmitteln auseinanderzusetzen. In teils auch farbigen Zeichnungen, Radierungen, Linolschnitten und Lithografien entstehen nun, besonders intensiv seit 2010, Landschaften und Innenräume.In seinen pastosen Interieurs, die eine traditionelle Gattung modernisieren, befragt der Künstler die abstrakten und dimensionalen Strukturen menschenleerer Räumlichkeiten. Auch Verweise auf die Kunstgeschichte lassen sich in diesen, teilweise das Surreale berührenden Malereien finden. Matthias Weischer kann schon bald nach Abschluss seines Studiums den Durchbruch feiern und ist heute eine feste Größe des internationalen Kunstbetriebs. Seine Arbeiten werden in renommierten Häusern wie dem Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, der Sammlung Goetz in München, dem Gemeentemuseum Den Haag oder dem Museum für Moderne Kunst in Frankfurt am Main gezeigt. An Art Nouveau, Celtic style six piece silver cruet, comprising two peppers, two open salts with blue glass liners and two lidded mustard pots, in presentation case, Birmingham, 1925, retailed by Gibson & Co. Goldsmiths, Belfast. Condition Report: Liners only with salts. Some interior corrosion. Marks rubbed. There is a slight dent on one of the pepper shakers. There is also a little bit of restoration.
