Kalamazoo by Gibson steel string acoustic guitar Kalamazoo by Gibson steel string acoustic guitar circa 1932, 19 fret rosewood fingerboard, sunburst finish top with tortoiseshell effect pickguard, the headstock with Kalamazoo logo, the inside of with 'Made in the U.S.A. by Gibson Inc Kalamazoo Mich', serial number 3094 to the reverse of the headstock, order number 192C to the neck block, together with hard case.63.5cm scale length. The guitar is in fair general condition. The finish is fairly consistently checked all over the instrument, this varnish checking is heavier on the neck and soundboard. The guitar has lots of dents, scratches, and chips throughout. The back has two fine splits to the top laminate of the ply back, the splits do not show through to the inside of the guitar and the body remains stable. These faults can be seen in photo 10/15 online and are in the upper part of the image where the light is casting across the back. The soundboard of the guitar is swelling around the bridge area mainly behind the bridge from the effects of string tension. There has been a strap button fitted to the heel of the neck but this has now been removed leaving a vacant hole. The tuners are a replacement and the nut is also probably a replacement. The slot for the bridge saddle has probably been lowered to help aid the action due to the swelling of the soundboard. The frets show signs of wear and have been flatted to increase playability.

Title with repaired tear, laid down and silked with pencil drawn border, blank leaves [par.]10 and 2Z6 supplied with later paper, repaired closed tear to e7, abrasion to X2 with some loss of text, repairs to last two leaves, hinge gaping between fly-leaf and title page, binding rubbed with bumped top corner, armorial bookplate, all edges gilt, blindstamped morocco binding by Ramage. Gibson 73, ESTC S115047.[William Rooper or Roper (1496-1578) was Thomas More's son-in-law and had lived in his household for 16 years. When this copy was sold in 2006 at a London auction, the description described William and Antony as brothers. Subsequent research by David Stather suggests that the book passed from William to his son Antony (ex dono patris rather than fratris) and then to William Roper (later Sir William), grandson of the first William].
