A large collection of WW1 related signatures, letters and a poem, all from Victoria Cross winners. All of the signatures were obtained during 1919 by a Boy Scout, A.H. Gibson of Ramsgate. He wrote to numerous VC winners asking for their signatures, adding a space at the bottom of his letters for them to sign and return to him. Many did so, returning his original letter with an autograph, while others wrote a more personalised letter, and one even writing a Rudyard Kipling poem.To include among many others, George Roupell (poem) who won his VC at Hill 60 in Ypres in 1915, Richard Willis (Letter) of the 1st battalion Lancashire Fusiliers who was awarded his VC for his courage at Gallipoli in 1915, plus Graham Lyall (letter), a Canadian officer who won his VC in September 1918.The signatures come with a typewritten sheet listing the names. There are approximately 98 signatures (one letter signed twice). Please note: not all the signatures are shown in the images. Many have cut from larger letters leaving just the signature on smaller pieces of paper.Condition: generally very good. Many appear to have been pasted into an album in the past, but this has not affected the clarity or condition of the signed pages.
