An extensive run of the Strand Magazine, containing the first appearances in print of The Hound of the Baskervilles (1901-2) and the stories subsequently collected as The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (1891-2) and The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes (1892-3), as well as many of Conan Doyle's stories outside the Sherlock Holmes canon. A George V WWI Special Constable truncheon, with GR insignia, dated 1914-19 and inscribed 'John Gibson', length 39cm. CONDITION REPORT: The decoration and gilt lettering is in good condition, a few surface scratches but a lovely colour to the timber, leather wrist strap present with old repair.
