There is an album containing 20 large photos mainly stuck in plus 6 postcards of which 5 look like Notts Forest team groups. There are loose press photos from his spell at Sheffield United which are late 1920s. There are training photos match action players relaxing and team groups. All genuine original photos but about half with stamps to rear. Including album there are over 50.

Both have club name and season embossed to cover for Charlie Paynters assistant and West Ham scout Gibson who passed away in the 38/39 season. C/W his pass to get into all grounds on behalf of West Ham in 37/38 and his hardback handbook for 37/38 which has his name embossed to cover. (4)

Sid Gibsons Nottingham Forest Football Contracts + Memorabilia: 7 of the 8 contracts issued to Gibson from 1921/1922 to 1928/1929 only lacking 1924/1925. Before transferring to Sheffield United in early 1928/1929 he played 252 times for Forest. Contracts signed by Gibson and managers Bob Masters and John Baynes. C/W a letter on Forest headed paper with sympathy to his family and a cartoon of Gibson.

C/W invite from Sheffield United to old player Sid Gibson. Also a damaged early 30s large press photo of the Sheffield United team and a figure of Gibson possibly used for tactics.

West Ham 1938 Football Letters + Memorabilia: Correspondence mainly sent by West Ham Director Mr Cearns to Sid Gibson who was West Hams Scout. Often relating to Sids health but also references for football jobs he applied for. There is a letter from Mr Cearns enclosing a 50th Anniversary velvet menu of the Football League in 1938 which has Mr Cearns name embossed to cover. There is a letter signed by Gibson telling the West Ham Director he can not return to West Ham sent from East Ham hospital where he died weeks later. Interesting items.

David Jack + Sid Gibson 36/37 Southend United Football Memorabilia: Jack and Gibson were manager and assistant at Southend United. There are 4 press photos of Jack twice with Gibson which are all signed by Jack. There is a 1934 autobiography of Jack which is signed without dedication by the ex England player. Gibsons Southend United complimentary pass for the Directors Box at Southend and his business card which states Assistant Manager Southend United. C/W many letters of condolence from people of Southend and two letters from Jack on Southend headed paper to his wife offering support. Superb lot.

Sid Gibson Sheffield United Football Contracts + Memorabilia: All 4 of his contracts from 28/29 to 31/32 where he played 106 times scoring 22 goals. All contracts signed by Gibson and manager/secretary John Nicholson who was in charge from 1899 to 1932. Gibson got a career ending injury in 1932 and there is a letter regarding his benefit match, Spine damaged programme for the match, letter from Sheffield United supporters club wishing him well, letter of receipts for match on Sheff Utd headed paper and a wages letter also on headed paper. Nice items.

A GEORGE III OAK AND MAHOGANY EIGHT-DAY LONGCASE CLOCK, the 13-inch brass break-arch dial signed Joseph Gibson/Ecclefechan, with subsidiary seconds and date calendar, engraved with a bird and flowering trees in the arch, the hood with plain arch top and freestanding columns, the case with canted corners and plain base with shaped apron, with a pair of weights and pendulum. 212cm high CONDITION REPORTWe have not had this clock working but we are told by the seller that it was working in their property. The case appears to have been restored at some point some components of the case maybe replaced. A couple of repaired splits to the base. The brass dial is good and clean. Complete with a pair of weights and a pendulum.

Gibson of the 4th Royal Scots from France 1914 to his death on the 28th of June 1915 serving in the Gallipoli Campaign at the age of 21, his name can be found on The Helles Memorial, Gallipoli along with his 1914-1915 Star and Memorial Plaque. Together with letters from his brother Robert Gray Nicol Gibson serving in France where he fell on the 21st of March 1918. T./2nd Lt Carswell of the 94th Field Company, Royal Engineers was mentioned in dispatches from Field Marshal Sir Douglas Haig dated 8th of November 1918, for gallant and distinguished service in the field in a letter from the office of Secretary of State of War, Winston Churchill.
