An early 20th Century photograph album belonging to A.N. Gibson containing images of WW1 tanks, 26th Highland Brigade Review by the King of Belgium 1918 etc, and a quantity of photographs of Nyasaland 1913-1921 relating mainly to The Glen Somerset Estate showing family members and native workers, together with a passport for Alexander Norwood Gibson (tobacco grower) dated 1925, who is depicted in many of the photographs.
A late Victorian silver sweet dish by Gibson & Langman and retailed by the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company, London,1894, shaped oval, sides embossed with scrolls, flowers and panels of diaperwork, plain base, 22.4 cm. long, wt. 175 gm.Good condition except for a tiny split to one flower at edge of rim.
WW2 British War Correspondents Service Dress Uniform, standard four pocket service dress tunic with bullion embroidered slip on British War Correspondent shoulder titles. Brass General service tunic buttons to the front and pockets. Istanbul tailors label to the interior pocket with inked name “GIBSON” and dated 20/4/42. Pinned to the collar area is a pre war Hawkes label with matching inked name. Accompanying the tunic is a pair of service dress trousers and army issue tie. Tunic has some moth damage to the reverse but otherwise generally good condition. (3 items)
