Statement of provenance from the vendor: "I got this guitar direct from Gibson in Tin Pan Alley, Denmark Street in 1992. This was back in the day when Gibson helped new artists to find the right guitar and lent them out for studio work and videos etc. I fell in love with this guitar the moment I played it, the neck felt great and I really like the unique flame top. After playing it for a few months, I wasn't completely convinced about the sound of the stock 1989 pickups, so Gibson replaced them with their latest at the time, a pair of 1992 '57 classic reissue pickups. They felt they'd really nailed the vintage sound with these pickups and raved about them. I played this guitar a lot from 1992 to 1996 and, as my music changed, so did the guitars and it has not seen much action since then"
