A VERY FINE QUALITY 16TH / 17TH CENTURY SAFAVID CALLIGRAPHIC IRON & GILT DECORATED PIN / PEN BOX, the box decorated with gilt to depict scenes of scrolling flora amongst a panel of calligraphy, with details of animals and figures upon horseback, all sides including the base decorated with gilt, 21.5cm long x 3.5cm wide.
A LARGE PAIR OF 19TH CENTURY ISLAMIC POTTERY ALHAMBRA VASES AND STANDS, the vases with a central band of Arabic calligraphy with a biscuit coloured ground, further decorated with panels of blue formal scrolling design, the vases with twin moulded handles, both with metal fitted stands, 102cm high, 45cm wide.
A Chinese "Wu Shuang Pu" wine pot, late 19th century, decorated with figures flanked by calligraphy and a further Chinese famille rose wine pot, decorated with children in a procession of kites. 14.3 cm and 14 cm respectively. CONDITION REPORT: Neither the lid nor the body of the taller of the two wine pots has any repairs or restoration. The lid is a little dirty and the paintwork to the knop and edge a little rubbed and faded. There is a hairline crack running from the top lip of the main body for +/- 2 cm. Where the top section of the handle joins the main body there is a further hairline crack all of the way around the edge of the handle and some discolouration within the crack itself. The smaller of the two pots has no repairs or restoration. The paintwork to the lid is faded and rubbed. The main body of the pot is in good order. The only minor issue is a small chip to the front under edge of the spout and a short hairline crack which runs above the point where the spout joins the body of the pot. This runs +/- 3 cm left to right and a further 2 cm down to the trouser line of the right hand boy.
