A FINE 19TH CENTURY PERSIAN KULAH KHUD OR HELMET, the wootz damascus skull finely decorated with a border of panels of calligraphy, surmounted with a further border of trefoil forms with linear decoration drawn up to the foot of the square section spike finial, the foot decorated with a band of scrolling fines, all highlighted in gold damascene, the front of the skull applied with two plume holders and an adjustable nasal bar, decorated to match, camail of small diameter butted links interspersed with brass rings formed into geometric designs.
A GOOD 19TH CENTURY JADE HILTED INDIAN MUGHAL CHILANUM OR DAGGER, 37.5cm curved fullered blade deeply chiselled with a panel calligraphy to either side on a textured gilt ground, the forte with borders of scrolling foliage in gold koftgari and an architectural form with trefoil top and infilled with star forms in gold koftgari, characteristic hilt carved from a single piece of pale green jade, the crossguard with bud finials, the scrolling knuckle bow with bud terminal, bifurcated scrolling pommel with domed finial.
A FINE 19TH CENTURY NORTH INDIAN KIRACH OR TULWAR, 82cm curved damascus blade chiselled with multiple fullers and a sword motif towards the tip, further decorated with a large panel of Quranic inscriptions, a small panel of calligraphy, a feline form within a circular border and celestial imagery, characteristic plated steel hilt with dished disc pommel finely chiselled with scrolling vines, foliate domed pommel, fine chequering to the underside of the pommel and grip, the crossguard, terminals and langets equally finely decorated with foliage and flowerheads, contained in its patterned cloth wrapped wooden scabbard.

A 19TH CENTURY SILVER NIELLO YATAGHAN, 37cm blade chiselled with foliage and stamped with a maker's mark, silver niello reinforcing straps with a panel of calligraphy along the back edge, characteristic hilt with silver niello grips, worn, contained in its embossed white metal mounted leather wrapped wooden scabbard, together with three similar examples. Each hilt with some form of damage, two associated scabbards and one lacking. (4)
A 19TH CENTURY CAUCASIAN KINDJAL, 29.5cm triple fullered blade with rounded tip, characteristic hilt profusely decorated with scrolling foliage and flowerheads in thick silver koftgari, contained in its metal panelled scabbard decorated to match with the addition of birds and beasts, the throat with a panel of calligraphy.
A Victorian coromandel veneered and mahogany sloped writing box, with brass and mother of pearl inlay and ornate brass edging to the base, opens to reveal a green fabric writing surface surrounded by green leather and a gilt embossed design, and opens further to a below compartment with a manufacturers mark engraved into mother of pearl inscribed, 'Turnill Dtrefsing & Writing Case Maker, 250, Regent Street'. The hinged top opens to reveal stationary compartments to include two inkwells and two lidded compartments with mother of pearl handles and an inlaid pen rest that encloses a key. The underside of the lid is lined with green fabric and holds a calligraphy pen with a bone handle and brass nib, 38cm wide x 26cm deep x 16cm highUsed condition, with marks and scratches consistent with age and wear.

He also maintained good connections with many famous Shanghai collectors including Wu Hufan, Zhang Congyu, Wang Jiqian, etc.

A collection of Chinese ceramics, predominantly bowls, six character Guangxu marks to the base of some examples.Condition Report: Three dragon decorated bowls 6 cm (h) and 10.5 cm (d) - No significant damage, one bowl has a few minor nibbles to the rim, no apparent cracks or hairlines, one has a slightly dull ringing sound, gilt loss in areas. Small pair of floral decorated bowls 4 cm (h) and 9 cm (d) - A chip to the rim of one bowl with a hairline crack extending 2.5 cm (l), a further hairline crack to the opposing side of the bowl, approximately 4 cm (l), two hairline cracks to the other bowl of the pair. Larger floral decorated bowl 5 cm (h) and 10.5 cm (d) - One small chip to the rim, no cracks or hairlines. Bowl with calligraphy exterior 5 cm (h) and 10.5 cm (d) - A chip to the rim approximately 4 mm x 5 mm, no cracks or hairlines. Small bowl with bogu pattern panels 4.5 cm (h) and 9 cm (d) - Two hairline cracks extending from the rim, largest approximately 3 cm (l), no chips. Celadon glazed pieces - No apparent chips, cracks or hairlines. There does not appear to be restoration to any piece.
