ATTRIBUTED TO DONG QI CHANG (QING DYNASTY) DU FU'S POEMS IN RUNNING SCRIPT A Chinese album of calligraphy, ink on silk, title-slip by You He and dated autumn of the xin mao year with one illegible seal, inscribed and signed Dong Qi Chang, with three artist's seals, and one collector's seal which reads gu ren you huan wang shi jian shang shu hua, together with a letter signed Jiang Zhao Rong and dated the 18th year of Republic Period (1929) with three seals of Jiang, mounted album of nine double leaves, 24.5cm x 24.5cm.
ANONYMOUS (REPUBLIC PERIOD) DIAMOND SUTRA IN RUNNING SCRIPT A Chinese handscroll of calligraphy, ink on paper, title-slip by Zong Hai and dated the tenth month of gui chou year with one illegible seal. Four collectors' seals of Jin Shao Tang family (a wealthy family during the Republic period), 117cm x 26cm. Provenance: brought back from China by Sir Thomas Octavius Callender who was the Managing Director of British Insulated Callender's Cables. The company had a large contract in Shanghai in the early 1900s.
A CHINESE HARDWOOD AND DREAMSTONE LOW TABLE LATE QING DYNASTY The rectangular top set with three dreamstone panels, each inscribed with calligraphy, the apron and ends carved with formal scrolls, all raised on four straight legs, 49cm x 135cm x 46cm. Provenance: the Benveniste collection, Montreal, purchased in the 1960s and '70s.
A CHINESE EMBROIDERED SILK 'LANDSCAPE' PANEL LATE QING DYNASTY With fishermen in a mountainous village by the river's edge, three lines of calligraphy in the top right corner attributing the work to Qiu Yun, with a paper label for the Royal Academy of Arts Exhibition 1935-6, framed and glazed, the frame inlaid with mother of pearl, 92cm x 29.5cm. Provenance: from the collection of Mrs Annie Hayes and thence by descent.
A MAMLUK-STYLE GILDED AND ENAMELLED GLASS MOSQUE LAMP 18TH/19TH CENTURY With a tapering neck decorated with blue calligraphy on a gold ground and roundels containing verses from the Quran, the body with six loop handles and calligraphic verses in gold on a blue ground and with geometric and floral bands in gold, blue, red, white and green, 33cm. Provenance: Warrens House, Bramshaw, the New Forest.
THREE SMALL CHINESE JADES SEALS QING DYNASTY One jadeite of rectangular-section with a spray of lingzhi to the top, another of two separate characters joined at the middle and the top, carved as two peaches and a bat, another with a spray of bamboo to one side and a pine tree on a rocky outcrop in relief to the other, together with a pendant carved as two conjoined blocks with calligraphy to three sides, 4.2cm. (4) Provenance: from the collection of Surgeon Lieutenant George Giri, b.1923, purchased in Hong Kong 1962-65.

A PAIR OF BLUE & WHITE BOWLS CHENGHUA SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE , KANGXI PERIOD (1662 - 1722 ) KANGXI SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITH A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD ( 1662 - 1722 Each bowl is well painted with a continuous scene of a gathering of the Eighteen Scholars of the Tang dynasty shown at various pursuits including playing the qin, playing weiqi, discussing philosophy and books, composing poems, writing calligraphy , all in rocky landscapes with pine and willow, the interiors with a circular medallion enclosing a penzai pine tree in a hexagonal jardinière within a lotus shaped medallion, the inner rim with a band of four panels, enclosing fruiting branches of pomegranate, peach, finger-citron and plum reserved on a diaper ground.From a Belgian private collection 20.3 cm.
