An early 18th century three pair cased repeating verge pocket watch by John Buschman of London, the movement signed '127 BUSCHMAN LONDON', with gilt pierced foliate and chased plates, Roman style pillars, striking on a bell and with silent action, fronted by a gilt Roman dial with outer Arabic five minute track and decorative chased centre, steel hands, the pierced case back with swans and female masks amidst scrolling foliage, the repoussé and pierced gold outer case chased with a scene of Juno's chariot drawn by peacocks, quartered with figures emblematic of the four continents, within a protective leather and gilt case decorated with pique work and a rope work bezel, with key, the watch 45mm. diameter, the outer case 59mm. diameter.* Condition: The watch winds and runs. The dial and cases appear to be in good condition, with no evident faults or repairs. There is a small stress crack to the one side of the top of the repeat button. Several small flakes from glass at edge where it meets the bezel. Very good overall.
A fine silver full hunter minute repeating perpetual calendar pocket watch with moonphase, hallmarked Chester 1929, maker F.T, three quarter plate washed gilt finished lever movement with bi-metallic compensation balance, minute repeating on two gongs, repeat action through slide on band, white enamel Roman dial with outer minute track, four subsidiary dials for day, date and month, phases of the moon combined with subsidiary seconds, blued steel spade hands, circular polished silver full hunter case, 57mm. diameter.* Condition: Winds and runs. Repeating mechanism functioning correctly. Dial has some damage - there is an old glued repair and four cracks visible to the shaped cover over the moonphase, plus a small chip to the second track. There are also small hairlines visible to either side of the central fixing point of the hands, and several tiny hairlines to the date dial. There is a small glued flake to the very edge of the dial at twelve. Glass missing. The case is good, with one tiny ding to the front.
A gold three coloured fusee lever pocket watch by Thomas Pinnington of Liverpool, gilt key wound movement with Massey escapement, foliate engraved balance cock inscribed 'Patent' with diamond endstone, signed 'THOs. PINNINGTON Liverpool 1265', dust cover, fronted by a triple colour dial with applied Roman numerals, engine turned centre and embossed floral border, the 18ct gold case, hallmarked Thomas Helsby & Co., Chester 1823, with all-over repoussé decoration of flower, foliage and fruit, 47mm. diameter, with key.* Condition: Runs only briefly - possibly simply requires cleaning and oiling. Overall in VG condition - no damage or faults to dial or case. No repairs noted.
