The plastic glass is loose and there is some old yellowed glue residue to the inside of the case front and dial from an attempt to glue the glass in place at some time. Some losses from enamel to chapter ring and small, faint ding to caseback. Cuvette also 9ct gold.

Maine on his leaving by Sir John Bennett Ltd. Jan 14th 1893". Charles Thomas Maine was the founder of the jewellery company at 35 King Street, St Helier, Jersey that was run by the Maine family until 2009. * Condition: Winds and runs. Dial VG. Minor scratching to dial. Case good overall - a small area of loss to the enamelled chapter ring. Slight wear to caseback engraving. Tool marks to case edge from opening. Two links to fob chain a little bent.

The dial has two hairline cracks at 11.30 and 3 o'clock. Some wear to engine turning to outer edges of case back. Tiny ding to gold to case front at 2 o'clock. Otherwise good with expected scratches and wear.

Dial has flaking to the enamel at the edge between 10.30-11.30 and a faint hairline is visible here. Small scratch to enamel at edge of dial at 9 o'clock. The brass desk clock case is probably scratchbuilt and homemade to a reasonable standard. The stand is detached. One screw missing from the back cover.
