A WWII Second World War Third Reich Nazi German Kriegsmarine Officer of the Watch badge. Gilt metal with lug to verso designed to be tucked into the left breast pocket. Only one of this badge was given to crew members of vessels, or shore facilities, and it would have been transferred between crew members as they went on watch duty. They were not issued to individuals. Makers mark for Assmann. Note; from a large private collection of militaria. The self-wind pocket watch having a white enamel 36mm face, with Roman dial and and subsidiary minute dial and a blue enamel chapter dial and finely engraved finish, London hallmark dated 1897, with an 18ct gold dust cover, movement nr 31518.
