An 18ct pocket watch of Glasgow historical interest the watch was given to John McConnell a supervisor at Cassell Gold Extracting Company, he travelled all over the world to oversee the extraction of gold from its ore using the patented method devised by Cassel Gold Extracting Company based in Maryhill Glasgow. the watch is engraved with `Presented to - John McConnell by the directors of the Cassell Gold Extracting Co Ltd. As a mark of their appreciation of his services Glasgow January 1892.` The associated watch chain is in 9ct with a medallion made from gold pyrites ore.
