1950s Gentlemen's Buren 9ct gold open face pocket watch with white enamel dial, Roman numerial hour markers, subsidary second dial and blued steel hands in 9ct gold case, (Birmingham 1952), presentation inscription to inner cover 'Imperial Chemical Industries Ltd, Presented to T. Clough for 30 years service 1952', watch numbered 704689. Case 46mm in diameter.The watch is currently running. It winds smoothly and the hands adjust correctly. The movement is a Buren Grand Prix 17 jewel 690 calibre movement. The watch is in excellent condition commensurate with age. The case has no dents and no obvious scratches, only very light surface wear. The glass isn't scratched and the enamel dial is perfect. The watch appears to have hardly been worn. The gold case is by Dennison and is a good thick guage. The inner dust cover is inscribed with the presentation inscription and is also gold. Gross weight 85 grams.

An 18ct gold hunter pocket watch, white enamel dial with Arabic numerals, subsidiary at 6, side wind, case approx 47mm, case with engraved monogram, inner dust cover with presentation inscription dated 1918, awarded the Victoria cross for bravery, total gross weight approx 87gms cased.Robert Edward Cruickshank (1888-1961) was born in Canada, but moved to England with his family in 1891.After initially enlisting with the Royal Flying Corps, he later transfered to the London Scottish Regiment.His Victoria Cross was won on May 1st 1918 while serving in Egypt.he was assigned the task of delivering a message along the front line, and while doing so, was fired upon and hit several times by a sniper.At the conclusion of the First World War, Robert returned to working for Lipton Ltd.During WW2, he attained the rank of Major while serving with the Home Guard. Further details: some denting to case, wear and tear, dial good winds and working, movement untested
