Whatever it was it is gone now, it was a sploge of some thing, wiped off...• Is the back cover hinge sound and free from play? Yes, all is ok with the hinge and everything closes ok too. Inner dust cover engraved with the date 8th June 1905.**The fly wheel & spring is intact, you can get it going but it wont keep going, & it cant be wound. Hope this clarifies things."

Weight without the mechanism 45.8gms Condition Report:Lovely & clean the back panel has a screw missing, winds and is ticking. Has plexiglass 'Glass'. Very clean, has been looked after. Movement hinge pin snapped, movement loose in the case. Impossible to tell you if any thing has been replaced, but as a watch of its age it will almost certainly have had a main spring replaced at least. It has been serviced and looked after, as i say it is very clean, all watches are sold as seen.
