Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Pocket Watch by Elgin. The 15 jewel 317 grade movement is clearly marked 'Elgin International Watch Co USA' with a serial number 22679760 indicating a 1919 manufacturing date. The face is in perfect condition having the same number as the movement, behind which is ghost writing showing 'Elgin USA'. Retains the original bevelled glass and the rear of the case is crisply engraved 'L&YR'.
LNER Railway Pocket Watch of early post-grouping design. The movement is marked Limit No 2 with 15 jewels. The original bevelled glass is intact albeit with slight marks through service. The face and hands are perfect as is the nickel case which is hand engraved 'LNER 284' Which is unusual as most are machine engraved.
