Original vintage winter sport poster featuring a colourful design by the notable Swiss poster artist Herbert Leupin (1916-1999). The image depicts a large pocket watch with a Swiss flag in its centre - a wooden ski and ski pole form the minute and second hands and each hour is marked by different winter holiday activities including ice skating, downhill skiing, ice hockey, sunbathing, ski jumping, sledging, music, a cog railway train and smiling sun. All against a bright blue background. A similar poster was produced in multiple languages, using this image alongside the caption Time for Winter Sports in Switzerland. Published by Ringier and Company, Zurich. Good condition, creasing, crease marks, punched metal hole for hanging, minor staining, backed on card. The three-tone gold dial with applied gold Roman numerals, spade hands, chased foliate detail to the border, and subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock. The lever fusee movement with domed steel three armed balance, balance cock engraved with a mask and diamond set end stone. The top plate signed ‘L’Estrange Dublin 2537’. The case 5 cm diameter.
