WWI pair to 2 Lieut A K Mackereth RAF together with papers relating to joining the RNAS then transferring to RAF photographs of plane he crashed in being pulled from the sea; cap badges; bullion insignia; Observer wings, buttons; RNAS Observers Log Book; open face RAF pocket watch by Williamson and other items all relating to Mackareth. Lieut Alan Mackareth joined the RAF at Killingholme in 1917 as an Observer, he then served from Eastchurch, Cattewater, Prawle and others. He was aboard HMS President II. The crash happened on June 4th 1918 and is detailed in the log book as are details of a flight at the end of the war when fog restricted movement. He is known to have flown in Maurice Farman MF11, Nieuport 11, RAF BE2c, Sopwith Pup and Airco DH4.
